Russia streamlines business trip reporting by allowing the use of electronic boarding passes

Starting April 2024, Russian companies can report airfare expenses using electronic boarding passes instead of paper documents. This became possible thanks to the collaborative efforts of Russia's Ministry of Transport and Ministry of Finance.

The Ministry of Finance issued a clarification on the use of electronic boarding passes for reporting, which was forwarded to the Ministry of Transport. According to the clarification, if an air ticket is purchased electronically, the itinerary receipt, which includes the flight cost, serves as the document confirming the ticket purchase expenses. To verify the flight, all one needs to do is to provide the accounting department with the electronic boarding pass issued by the airline at online check-in, along with the electronic ticket. There is no need for stamps similar to those found on printed boarding passes.

This innovation has made reporting business travel through Hamilton Apps' cloud applications even easier. All in all, this enables employees to swiftly and effortlessly prepare an expense report, attach photos of supporting documents, and submit them for review to the accounting department.
