What was interesting for the tourism industry at the Startup Village conference
The Startup Village conference, which took place on June 6-7 at the Skolkovo Innovation Center, was a bright, creative and most importantly an effective event. "There are many of us. We are strong and unstoppable," said the President of the Skolkovo Foundation at the opening ceremony. According to preliminary calculations, over 20 thousand people visited the event.
Director of the Vipservice Holding Dmitry Gorin participated as an expert at the discussion "Digital transformation in travel". "The future of the tourism industry is in consolidation and new technologies," he noted. Speaking about such technologies, Dmitry Gorin gave examples of technological projects offered by the Vipservice to the tourism industry. The main project of the holding for the B2C market is the on-line travel agency Biletix, and for the B2B market is the on-line ticket and service booking system Portbilet 2.0. The use of such systems in an uneasy time for the tourism industry allows to increase the profitability of the business, retain and attract customers to tourist offices. At the end of his speech Dmitry Gorin said that Vipservice continued consolidation and interested in new startup projects.
Several travel related startups were presented at the conference. One of the most interesting projects was the spaceflight project.
An important outcome of the conference for the tourism industry was the beginning of a permanent cooperation between the Association of Tour Operators, a part of which the Vipservice is, and Skolkovo Innovation Center. New projects and new ideas will be useful for the development of the tourism market.
