Travelers redirected to inbound tourism

Russian travelers are changing to inbound tourism destinations, according to airline ticket bookings analysis in March 2020 of the Biletix online travel service. Compared to the same period last year, the share of bookings on domestic routes increased from 66% to 79%, as service experts specify.

Another feature of tourism in the spring of 2020 was the increase in the share of one-way air ticket sales - from 55% last year to 68% this year. Travelers in home-office work leave Russian cities to be closer to their relatives and friends.

Flights around the country have become much cheaper due to the numerous campaigns that airlines carry out in order to stimulate demand. So, the average check for round-trip tickets in Russia decreased from 8,804 to 6,879 rubles, that is, more than 22%.

In March 2020, tickets to Sochi, Crimea, Mineralnye Vody, St. Petersburg and Anapa enjoyed the greatest demand.
