On January 27 Dmitry Gorin commented to Russia 1 channel the current situation with trips to China due to coronavirus. “Travel companies have no right to sell travel packages to China. Therefore, new packages are not sold; the old ones are either annulled without fines or re-booked to other destinations. Independent tourists can surely travel on their own, but there are clear recommendations on safety threat by Rosturism. We advise postponing trip to China until the situation has been normalized”, said the expert. (More from min. 12)

In an interview to NTV Dmitry Gorin also mentioned that this week about 1100 Russian tourists will return to Russia ahead of time. To receive compensation for unused vacation days, one should apply to travel operator through a travel agency. Chinese organized tourist groups won’t be able to travel to other countries from January 27. Therefore, both outbound and inbound travel operators in Russia will suffer losses. Still, end January and February are no high seasons for tourism, and by spring the situation should become stable, added Dmitry Gorin in a live talk with RBK. (More from min. 22 )

Air flights to Egyptian resorts can be restarted in spring 2020. According to Russian Travel Operator Association, this will happen in case of successful regular audit. “Some technical points had to be fixed.
