We open Western Siberia with Ural Airlines

Vipservice continues the monthly project 'Opening New Cities with URAL AIRLINES'. In November, the airline offers inexpensive fares* to two cities at once—'academic' Tomsk and 'Altaian' Barnaul.

Tomsk is the oldest large educational, scientific and innovative centre in Siberia. Tomsk ranks first in concentration of highly qualified researchers in Russia. The city is also considered an architectural landmark of Russia because of the huge number of wooden and stone buildings of the 18th–20th centuries. The Tomsk wooden art nouveau is included by Forbes magazine in the list of 'Six Sights of Russia that will Soon Disappear'. A favourite place of citizens is the embankment—a paved road, a beautiful view of the river and a funny monument to Anton Pavlovich Chekhov, who visited Tomsk. Students love another attraction of the city—'Monument to Happiness' representing a dog from the animated cartoon 'Once upon a time there lived a dog...' 

Barnaul was originally built in the image and likeness of St. Petersburg, that is why its central part is symmetrically designed. In Barnaul, there are more than 20 historical and architectural monuments of the 18th and first half of the 19th century. But, of course, the main thing that the city is famous for is its proximity to the beauty of nature. Already on the edge of Barnaul, the Ribbon Forest begins: coniferous forest 550 kilometres long. Within a three hours' drive from the city there are the famous Altaian mountains and the Teletskoye lake—a UNESCO world heritage site.
